I got the CD. Now, I'll say that I got into Redemption last year and I fell hard and fast for their music. I love it. They've been my most listened to band the past year, by far. I must say, though, Nic can write some freaking songs. This guy is a songwriting monster. And what a lyricist. Love this guy so much.
And to Ray, please take care your voice. You were blessed with the best voice in progressive metal, IMO. Cherish it.

I had some similar thoughts. i remember when they were in the process of creating Origins of Ruin... They released the first demo, the suffocating silence...they posted it to their webpage, but many people wrote on the forum that they were disappointed that they could not hear the bass. Because of this they actually went back and remixed it and everyone was happy. I loved that album. There are a couple tracks that are OK on this new one...but like iv said previously its just getting stale. I really love what Ray does on Begin Again though...i think its my favorite track at this point and this its really pretty good, just wish it was longer.

They really did that with Origins? Wow. I didn't know that. My fav song so far is "Perfect." Wow, great song and incredible lyrics. It instantly made me look at life differently.

I mean have they come close to this in the last two albums? I guess it is a pretty tall order. I remember sitting there in my office absolutely stunned...

I've been listening nonstop and I'm starting to hear past the production issues and really embrace the music and lyrics. I've been sitting with the booklet open and following the words. I'm so blown away. What fantastic, life-changing lyrics. And the lyrics are woven through the songs to link them all, culminating with the final verse in the final song that referrences all the prior song titles. Nic is the best in the business. He really pours everything he has into his music and it's beautiful.

In a lot of ways Redemptions first album is my favorite. They were more raw and trying all sorts of interesting ideas. For example
i miss those days...
Edit: actually i gotta say i think the new album is growing on me. Let it rain is pretty nice.

OK this is really annoying me....i like the toris amos cover but WHY did they change her lyrics?? BTW this cover was advertised as being included on Origins but then they dropped it right before the album was released...i wrote asking what happened to it and never heard back. Now they include it...

I got the 2-disc US version last week and I think this new CD is real good. Their sound is tighter than ever. My fave's prolly "Let it Rain" right now but my personal fave is on the bonus disc. The UFO cover for "Love to Love" is phenomenal! Ray just OWNS it and I love the choice of all the different covers. I'm not up to speed, either, on Tori's recent career but I did follow her ages ago. It's cool how they used a female guest vocalist keeping the message of the lyrics' tone in check. Has anyone ever seen Redemption in concert (apart from YouTube or DVDs)? They did open for DT in 2007. I still haven't caught them live but look forward to if they come around here again.

Coolness, Viv! And I subscribed to ya. I love Bernie's uploads. Subscribe to him, too, 'cause he occasionally uploads Redemption and Engine live material among other things.

omg....the 200$ one looks so enticing. I know! I'm actually looking up flights today, lol. It's too enticing to pass up. A private concert and meet-and-greet, plus your name in the DVD booklet and credits? I'm not into any of the other bands at prog power, but two redemption concerts in less than 12 hours is worth the trip!

Nick van Dyk said in addition to my name, he will mention The Mooreatorium (www.themooreatorium.com) in the "special thanks" credits. I asked him if that was ok, and he said yes. I said there's a bunch of Redemption fans here that are very supportive of the band.
