i just wanna know who wrote mindcrime. Was that completely degarmo? Mindcrime was GTs idea. I think the actual writing was a band effort. I also know they used some leftovers from Rage, like this one:

id be willing to bet that degarmo wrote the music. The story is cool but i dont find it that compelling...considering that it is very similar to le fem nikiti
i mean you really think this is all theater?? i kind of am drinking the koolade. The Ryche is one band that i really saw fall off a cliff. Much like DT fell off a cliff without kevin. They were really cool things then they werent then they were just a joke.
Roger Waters sued David Gilmour for making division bell without him and calling it a floyd album. These things happen. This one is interesting since we get to see the details.

id be willing to bet that degarmo wrote the music. Im not, so you win. i mean you really think this is all theater?? Look at Motley Crue. "Dirt" sells. And if QR isnt selling music anymore, then what are they going to sell? Add GTs love of theatrics to the equation, and what do you get? Dedicated to chaotic reality show? They do. But look at the narrative we are being presented: GT is drinking insania wine, spitting like a lama and constantly looking for fist fights. Comon.....I mean, Comon. This is just beyond stupid

This whole story is crazy and I haven't really been a diehard since mid-1990s when DeGarmo departed the band. But the whole conspiracy of PR doesn't ring true for me. It really does seem there were many occasions where Tate took the reins and the other guys let him for whatever reason. Now they've had enough and want the band back for what it's known for. Playing METAL. It's that simple. FYI: DeGarmo had major input in 9 of the 15 tracks on Mindcrime. From Wikipedia... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation:_Mindcrime"I Remember Now" (Chris DeGarmo, Geoff Tate, Michael Wilton [2]) – 1:17 "Anarchy-X" (DeGarmo) – 1:27 "Revolution Calling" (Tate, Wilton) – 4:42 "Operation: Mindcrime" (DeGarmo, Tate, Wilton) – 4:43 "Speak" (Tate, Wilton) – 3:42 "Spreading the Disease" (Tate, Wilton) – 4:07 "The Mission" (DeGarmo) – 5:46 "Suite Sister Mary" (DeGarmo, Tate) – 10:41 "The Needle Lies" (Tate, Wilton) – 3:08 "Electric Requiem" (Scott Rockenfield, Tate) – 1:22 "Breaking the Silence" (DeGarmo, Tate) – 4:34 "I Don't Believe in Love" (DeGarmo, Tate) – 4:23 "Waiting for 22" (DeGarmo) – 1:05 "My Empty Room" (Tate, Wilton) – 1:28 "Eyes of a Stranger" (DeGarmo, Tate) – 6:39

just read about the degarmo departure here: www.anybodylistening.net/breakdownroom/index.php?topic=2.0has me curious about why he left in 2003 as it kind of alludes to something. After reading that its pretty obvious that he was the guy writing the music...he did those bad albums it sounds like because he didnt get much help and it was a brutal period. maybe tate wrote the lyrics. As far as im concerned i agree with whoever said 'its just a mess'. frankly i wasnt even that crazy about empire or promised land...i dont really care what happens here....its a lose lose. i think they should all just retire or beg degarmo to come back.

But the whole conspiracy of PR doesn't ring true for me. Conspiracy or not. Its just how the industry works these days with declining record sales. Playing METAL. It's that simple. so i guess you will be buying the new QR record with La Torre then? Keep it metal, right? ;D

I just watch the fan-filmed video footage of Tate spitting on Rockenfield during the Brazil show, wow. I also encourage you guys to read the OM2 thread at Breakdown Room Forums. The guy Mitch Doran, a teenager who played guitar on OM2 instead of Wilton, has been posting a TON of details about his work on that album and how he was paid virtually nothing and was homeless. wow. Not sure i completely believe this guy though.... the album came ut in 2006 , 5 or 6 years ago. The guy says 'was still in my late teens'. what kind of 23 year old talks like that? Also he says he respected them because he used to love albums like empire and mindcrime. MindCrime was 87, for him to be 18 in 2006 was pretty much when he was born. Maybe he got into the albums somehow but the way its written it seems like hes sayng oh yea back in the day....
also why would he breach contract and expose himself? im not sure about this one....but i guess if the information he provided about the drums and stuff is correct then it might be true.

www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=180720"During the METALICA tour [in 1998], Eddie Jackson came onto the tour bus where Geoff Tate was sitting and, unprovoked, preceded to 'Kung Fu' kick Geoff in the face. As Geoff recounts, 'It was a brutal blow that caught me completely off guard. Two other witnesses, Messrs. Beyer and Rafeal, both of whom provided declarations, corroborate Geoff Tate's memory of this incident.
