One of my housemates saw a mouse in our kitchen about an hour ago. It scuttled back not behind the radiator, but behind the boiler.
We've set a few traps up to try and get it, which I'll post a picture up of later... but now we'll watch what happens!! ;D

Play the song for the mouse ! ;D
Two years ago two lizards used to come by my window and when i listened to Dream Theater they tended to get closer to listen more carefully, hehe, it sounds funny ... but the Lizards have not showed up for almost it's one and a half year now ...
but, last week i caught a lizard in my room ... i put a plastic glass over him/her ... i think she/he is dead by now ... but i was so sorry to check ... the glass is still there, i can't look inside and see what's happened to the poor lizard !

The mouse took the cheese from the trap without setting it off. Some trap!!
Man, I'd much rather have lizards than mice. I imagine Lizards are less likely to steal your food and chew through packaging! That plus lizards are way cooler.

Yes, lizards don't eat food. But if they somehow manage to get up to your bed, then they can cause trouble. Plus they can go up the wall and fall on you.
i hope you can catch it soon. But you can make peace with that mouse somehow, and throw him out peacefully.

I think it would be awesome if you used a Dorito in the mouse trap. Just sayin!

After reading this thread I just have to take a moment to say a little prayer for all the creatures (except for spiders of course) that find themselves in the home of a mooreatorium member.

Here's the semi-elaborate set of traps we came up with. The mouse hasn't touched the rat poison. It was able to take the cheese from the mousetrap without setting it off. And it didn't touch the toilet roll/peanut butter setup (he was meant to crawl in to get the peanut butter, then fall into a bucket). I was super-annoyed with it this morning - it ate through the plastic bag the bread was stored in and now there's a mouse-shaped hole where it was eating! Going to have to keep all our food in the cupboards from now on...

wow, that would freak me out. i've never had mice. but just knowing that they are lurking around the kitchen where i eat everyday and walking on everything would flip me out.
Also, nice cow-themed container. kevin would like it. he likes moo cows.

Oh, i can't believe this! Today, i dared to look under the container and i found the lizard ALIVE! ;D i have to admit that the night i caught this lizard i felt so sorry and sad for the lizard and made three holes in the container for him/her to breathe!

Haha! How sweet. I'd love to find a lizard like that in my room, although I bet they must get annoying after a while.
We've been keeping the kitchen clean and don't leave food out on the worktop. Consequently we're not really getting any trouble from the mouse, although that doesn't stop it poking around. I think I saw some fresh droppings this morning...

i took this quick shot! Probably those white points are the droppings, i have no idea about it. i guess i have to get someone to throw him out of window, it might be hungry by now.
"i will let this go!"

The good news is we haven't seen any fresh droppings in the kitchen for a good few days now... the bad news is that we saw at least one baby mouse in our living room last night!!
As I understand it, baby mice usually don't leave the nest. The nest isn't in the living room, so it's probably wandered out to get food because its parents haven't brought it any. So it's likely the adult mouse/mice we saw in the kitchen have snuffed it!
We had a poke around and found a couple of holes in the floorboards under our carpet (made for TV cables I think), which would let mice through, so we've blocked them up with blu tac. Hopefully that's the last we'll see of them!!

... apparently not!! My housemates have seen the mouse. He ate through a large chunk of a loaf of bread we left out on the worktop - talk about making the same mistake twice!!
The mouse... it's back again!

One of my housemates noticed a really bad smell in the kitchen today. It was coming from behind the fridge. We checked earlier this evening, and it was the mouse, now in rotting carcass form. Eeeeewww. Luckily one of my housemates volunteered to scoop his remains out while I was out. He's mostly out, but some of his has got quite liquidy...
