hey luke, i totally missed that question. no, i never heard of numbers stations. what is it exactly??
And vivace, I havent read this anywhere but did PT say if they were breaking up the 55 min track for the CD so you can reach various parts? Like DT did with Six Degrees? Or do I need to listen to the whole track from the beginning each time? IF that's the case, that would be silly. I don't mind the 55 song thing, but it has to be broken up into movements or whetever so we can skip around and reach them more easily.

hey luke, i totally missed that question. no, i never heard of numbers stations. what is it exactly?? you can find info here: www.simonmason.karoo.netand here www.simonmason.karoo.net/page30.htmlKevin used numbers station in Even The Waves. In an interview some times ago someone asked to Kevin what he was listening to and he answered he was listening numbers station a lot. That's why I started to be interested in them. In general, numbers stations' samples are used by many music groups. In the second link you can find at the end of the web page a list of all bands that used numbers station

Let's see.. other music.
Opeth, Fates Warning, Bjork, OSI, Rush, U2, Porcupine Tree, Delerium, William Orbit, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Coldplay, Sting..
I think like some other people my taste kinda followed Kevin from the prog of his DT days to the ambient electronic sound of Chroma Key.

I'm a big fan of Pain of Salvation. But lately this new band Lunatic Soul draws my attention so much. I listen to a lot prog stuffs. But i'm a song person, not much an album person: DT and side projects, ayreon and other Arjen's projects, dial, arena, henning pauly, daniel liverani, sigur ros, paatos, porcupine tree, steven wilson's project, alexi murdoch, angra, rhapsody, symphony X, blackmore's night, shadow gallery, sonata arctica (love it!), and some good ol' local stuffs.

A little bit of all styles now. I was big into heavy metal and progressive but, right now that is boring to me. There are hundreds of artists that I listen to.

This looks pretty interesting! Found @ link www.fateswarning.info/news/archives/00000123.shtml08/04/2009 Entry: "Upcoming Jim Matheos guest appearance..." Memories Of Machines is the name of the new project formed by Tim Bowness (No-Man) and Giancarlo Erra (Nosound). Involving contributions from Peter Hammill (Van Der Graaf Generator), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Jim Matheos (OSI/Fates Warning) and members of the No-Man and Nosound bands, the debut album (likely to be called Warm Winter) was recorded over a three year period in New York, Rome, Småland (Sweden) and Norwich (UK). The album is almost complete, just to finish a few things on mixes and recordings. Even if still no record label or official release date, I'll post soon a teaser video to let you taste what you'll find on it.. Even on this project, waiting is almost finished. Stay tuned to www.nosound.net for future updates.

Radiohead and Tool, part of my top 5 faves as well! What did you think of 10,000 Days? I think they have come a long way from their first album!!! I just LOVE 10,000 Days! And my question is, if you like Radiohead, do you also like Muse?

And my question is, if you like Radiohead, do you also like Muse? I love 10,000 days, i loved lateralus, it's great to watch them grow as a band. I would have to say my favorite is aenima but not by much there all amazing. Radiohead is another band that experienced a huge evolution and i've lost no love along the way. As for Muse i haven't heard much but i will be checking it out asap i'll let you know what i think for sure... i also love tons of other music (owned over 500 cds over the years).

I'm also curious what people's favorite No-Man and Porcupine Tree Discs are. It would have to be 'together were stranger' and 'inabsentia' or 'lightbulb sun' or 'stupid dream'....or maybe even 'up the down stair' so hard to choose the PT stuff cause it's all so good but together were stranger from no-man hit me like a ton of bricks (so good for chillin to)

And my question is, if you like Radiohead, do you also like Muse? so i picked up muse 'absolution' and i have to say there's some great things about it. BUT the singer reminds me so much of thom yorke that i find myself loosing a little interest cause the could never bring me to the place radiohead has for close to 15 years now. on a side note jessbrew i saw your post on the intro forum... i am also a hardcore wow nerd too. lmao i rock a holy priest on keal'thas server. were doing the 25 man ToC fights atm fun stuff.

Oh great! I play on private servers, though. Hehe! Actually in the process of moving my guild to another server because the one we are on is screwed atm.
When I first heard Muse, I bet my sister $20 that it was Radiohead. They do sound a lot alike but what I found is that the lead for Muse has this hitching inhale when he sings that is so unlike anything else I've heard and I LOVE it.

The first time I heard PT was in my car after buying In Absentia, and it has been a very good ride ever since. Pt and OSI are tied for my #1 favorite artists, but with Blood OSI has taken a temporary lead. Hard to choose a favorite PT release, really hard...but I'd say In Absentia has had the most replay value of them all, for me. I'm sooo excited to get their new September release! The new Alice in Chains should be interesting as well. Going to be a good month!
