I wish the Progressive Nation lineup was a bit more sexy. Maybe next year. I know they had two bands drop out this year at the last minute, but it would deff be cool to see bigger names like PT or Symphony X. Opeth was a good bad to have last year.

Yeah, I forgot to mention I also caught Gigantour at Six Flags in Buffalo, NY, where Megadeth was (laughably) a co-headliner along with DT. Got there early enough to see Symphony X on the miniature second stage, and their short, non-pyrotechnical set was worth more than Megadeth's, not shockingly ^.^

Of course it boils down to that, sadly.

So it's been a few months since BC&SL. Has anyone's opinion changed? I must admit, I have been listening to it here and there and it has grown on me. I can still see its many flaws, but there are things that I do enjoy about it. "Best of Times" still does absolutely nothing for me and I skip it every time. "The Count of Tuscany" is very enjoyable, although the lyrics still remain cheesy. The first three songs are pretty solid.
Also, I brought this up on the DT forum a couple months ago and got laughed at, but I feel like DT had a chance to make BC&SL a cohesive story and dropped the ball. I feel like they could have blended the accident storyline from "Nightmare," the death of a relative storyline in "Best of Times" and Portnoy's alcohol battle in "Fortress" into a larger theme. The theme would be a group of teens that are drunk at a party and get into a car accident. The only survivor is the driver, who is in a coma and battling his demons as he drifts in and out of consciousness hearing doctors and family members talk. It would be like Fates Warning's A Plesant Shade of Gray meets DT's Scenes from a Memory.
Idk, it might be corny but if done well I think it would have been brilliant. It's just one of those things takes a little time to hammer out and DT has to fine-tune an album instead of jus tcranking them out so fast.
