Hey guys. I've been listening to Engine's Superholic album and there's something in it that's driving me nuts. In the song 'home' there is a sound clip of some sort playing in the background and I can't make out a single word of it. Does anyone have any clue what's being said or where the clip is from?

Yeah i'm HUGE Engine fan and I've never known what that background audio is either. Actually I always thought it was an answering machine or voicemail message of some girl or woman talking but I have no idea really.
Definitely hope another new CD is in the works, however! Ray has hinted as much. When I messaged with him on MySpace coupla years ago he admitted ppl ask him all the time about ENGINE and how come no new music since 2002. *fingers crossed*

Almost sounds like an answering machine recording. It's isolated in the right channel, with a little work I bet you could really figure it out.

Yes, I agree James. Thanks for link too ceceliaocadhain  Actually, I wrote vocalist Ray Alder a message on FB the other day and he said he'd get back to me on it. It had been awhile since he had heard it himself! Very nice of him yet I haven't heard back as of yet. |

I have another question that's vaguely related to this thread so I figured I'd put it in here. Being the lover of bonus material (behind the scenes footage etc) that I am, i was reading an interview with ray about the APSOG germany shows and he said that they took a camera crew with them that was supposed to film them on the tour. He said they weren't doing a very good job so they fired them and finished the filming themselves. anyway, I haven't read about this footage in any of the dvd reviews. is this film on the APSOG dvd? are there a lot of clips or did they not end up with much? thanks guys |

Yes, I never did get back in touch with Ray about Engine question. He did reply me again telling me he'd talk with guitarist Bernie Versailles and run it by him so we'll see..possibly!  About FATES dvd thingie? Yeah, I have that aPSoG VHS tape and it is odd. There are parts that seem very conceptual and then the obvious band-filmed show segments intertwined. I'll post on FW forum and see if anyone bites. *fingers crossed* |

haha. so i posted a link on the fates forum just so that everyone knew what i was referencing to when i mentioned the interview, and i guess that interview was forgotten about cuz they made a news bit out of it on the website and somebody just posted it on Ray's facebook. IDK if i feel accomplished because of that...or if maybe i should stop wasting my life away delving deep into the the internet for hours on end searching for old interviews and band clips and demos etc. etc.  lol ~Cecelia |
