actually, maybe false start does have dual meanings. i kev really seemed to do a good job of making the Blood lyrics be about relationships and war at the same time, at moments. maybe false start is about more than just a romantic relationship.

You are probably right, but these lyrics so completely explain early realtionships. These are the ones that MUST happen, even if they are painful. It teaches humans how to interact in romantic relationships and its important to experience this, unless you are just gifted from birth Every relationship gives you another piece in the puzzle. I have been in many where I thought almost exactly what the lyrics are. I once even told a man, "I'm with you till I find someone better." I just do not understand why people find someone that they think they are completely in love with, get married, then realize years later what a terrible mistake it was because they haven't lived fully. Its important when you can recognize that its another false start, so that you don't get yourself in a bad situation.

Actually, i probably would agree with you wiche, except i remember an interview that kevin did on the When Dream and Day Unite 15th anniversary bootleg DVD. It was an interview from 1989 and he talked about the meaning behind the lyrics of "Light Fuse and Get Away." He said the song was about how guys "fuck 'em and forget 'em" to avoid getting close to girls and getting hurt. I see the same theme in False Start. If I didn't see that interview, I'd probably lean more towards your interpretation. Still, it could deff have dual meanings!
