I saw that he didn't only sell the last CDs, but also the last Chromkey Demotapes. All this makes me wonder what he is up to. Is he sort of cleaning up and getting ready for a new direction? Or does he simply need some fast cash? - This happens to everybody from time to time right? Sometimes I fear he might give up music and do something totally different. What is he doing right now? " A-n-y -- i-d-e-a -- w-h-e-r-e -- h-e -- m-i-g-h-t -- b-e ?"

He's living in Des Moines, Iowa. He's going to be a doctor. He’s in his third year of medical school. He's very busy at the moment, but he doesn't want to quit music. He will produce a new CK album when he will have time.

Thanx for this News!! It seems like I missed it somewhere in the forum right? It's cool to hear he has no fear to change ways completely. But hey, he's been a doctor before, - did a lot of Musical healing on me

Fates Warning vocalist Ray Alder actually mentioned the doctor stuff in a recent interview, so that's how we know. Here's the link: www.deadrhetoric.com/features/fates-warning-quite-a-bit-left-to-say/. I think it's pretty awesome. However, I'm going to make sure to keep the website's updates and discussions geared toward kevin's music-related stuff, because they are really whole separate worlds. I mean, we can mention it now because Ray mentioned it, but overall and going forward I'd prefer to keep the forum focused on his past, present and future music and allow kevin to pursue his new chapter without fan eyes upon him. On a separate note, I wish I could've gotten my hands on one of those cassette tapes, but they sold so fast. I have one, but it doesn't have the album insert. Congrats to those that grabbed one!

Mike, i believe what Kevin chooses to do with his time/life highly influences and directs his music life. He went to Turkey and did lots of new things. He went to Iowa and South Dakota and was inspired by Indian culture and their past and brought that to the new OSI album.
Kevin is not among those typical artists that let the industry and music business dictate them what their characters need to be. It's Kevin's character that directs his music and i highly respect that.
Thanks to you we can discuss stuff about Kevin here. He's not like many other people who tweet that they have just drunk water or post the color of their new "underwear" on facebook. I really think a lot about Kevin Moore and want to do things similar to him.
Recently I am focusing on how he (and Jim Matheos, too!) manages to bring so much passion, emotions and beauty to his song with only two, three notes. That's something i really want to do and learn to do it in a good way.
I have learned many things from Kevin. His silence means a lot to me. He never really speaks about himself, that's strange and sounds sad.
I've seen people selling Kevin's albums on eBay up to prices above $100 while he himself sells his own stuff with a reasonable price. He could wait to sell them more expensive if he wanted to.

Yes, that's a whise decision Mebert! Although we all are so curious how his real life comes down in his songs. So Kevin gets part of the list of restless musicians: Bruce Dickinson: Flying Planes, Fencing ;D Brian May: Astrology Eddie Van Halen: Porn Production Kevin Moore: Doctor

Is him selling all this stuff related to Chroma Key mark the beginning of a new chapter for him? When he left Dream Theater he completely left behind all ties and allegedly doent even talk to his close childhood friends Petrucci and Myung anymore. Is this selling off his items some sort of "cleansing" ritual? There hasn't been a solo album from Kevin in years and he is studying to be a doctor. Maybe he wants to leave his music career behind in the same way he left DT behind all those years ago?

I'd be very surprised if he retired from music.
Leaving a band is one thing, leaving something you've been doing all your life, almost all the time, is quite another. I do think that his studies might be taking up too much of his time to devote to music.

I merged the topics on Kevin selling stuff since they were very similar. The DAFR t-shirt is up to $52 already with three days left. That's a nice collectible. Whoever gets it has a cool item. I'm curious what other items he has that might find their way to eBay.

Holy crap, I had no idea about medical school! You know - it kind of makes sense, he seems... doctorly lol
Wow, that changes things. Hopefully musical output will continue, but I respect him wanting to pursue other roads in life.
