Hey guys, it's been a long time since I properly posted here... I haven't forgotten about the great people here, just been busy listening to other music since Fire Make Thunder.
I'm really excited to hear what Chroma Key sounds like after 10 years. There was 6 years between DAFR and GMH and they are radically different albums... I wonder how a new Chroma Key album will sound after 11 years?
Additionally, I notice that it's been 3.5 years since the last OSI album with no news of any further activity. I remember Blood was announced about 6 months before release so I suppose it's conceivable that a new album could be on the way... but does anyone think that they basically took the prog metal-meets-electronica thing that really defined OSI as far as it could go?
As much as I enjoyed FMT I didn't really feel it explored much new territory at all. I wonder if, perhaps, instead of trying to guess when the next album comes, we should sit back and be pleased with the 4 great albums OSI gave us and view it as a closed book.
Interested on your thoughts... and looking forward to discussing the new CK music when it arrives!!

I think it's just on hold as they're both busy doing stuff on their own. Here's what Matheos said about it: "TDG: On a related note, is there any chance of any new OSI albums in the future?
JM: I would love to do another OSI at some point. But, both Kevin and I are busy with other things right now, so, unfortunately, there’s nothing on the horizon."

I don't think it's a closed book. But with Jim busy with FW and Kevin working on the new CK album, OSI project is temporary stopped.
I suppose Kevin will be busy with CK for at least mid 2016 (1 song each month....at least 10 songs...) and then there is the professional recording he is talking about. Jim is working for FW: new album and the following tour will keep him busy until the end of 2016.
I expect a new OSI album for the end of 2017
