There seems to be a kind of samey tone throughout this album lyrically. And to me, it sounds like Kevin was going through a huge breakup or something. I really would like to know if anyone here could shed some light on the subject or share their opinions and interpetations!

I agree. The album could almost be called a concept album - although it is a twin concept; space travel and the aftermath of a relationship break-up.

I think all Kevin's albums could be considered in a certain way twin concept albums. I think he likes to play with words and let the main concept ambiguous

I never really thought YGN had a concept. But I guess it could. Anyone know where the cover art for that album came from? Also, what do you think it might symbolize in relation to Kev's music. Why did he choose that photo?

Why did he choose that photo? In an old interview I remember Kevin said he choose that picture because it fit very well with the mood of the album and, moreover, he thought it was very funny!

Oh yeah i was pretty jazzed getting that CD in mail. It's the only one Kevin signed before he sent it out for me too! The NASA font for all the lyrics was also so effin' kickass!
About album cover pic of Gus Grissom which Annie mentioned? In some audio interview (cannot recall which) i know Kevin said this photo of Gus was above the studio entrance door. They all thought it was interesting and odd enough to choose as CD cover. I think Kevin said it just snowballed from there...the whole NASA theme which essentially was really accidental to begin with! ;D hehe

Regarding YGN, it could be interesting talking about it with Steve Tushar. He was involved in. Mebert, could you set up an interview?

I'm just trying to pace myself. I already have lists of questions out to Thomas Ewerhard (the creator of the OSI logo and designer of the three OSI albums) and Dogu Yucel (a big Kevin fan who authored the two books that were turned into Turkish movies that Kev did soundtracks for.) I also got Mark Zonder to agree to an interview and Roy Harter (a composer that studied under Kevin in the mid 1990s). I wonder if Steve Tushar and Kevin would ever work together again. I didn't like Yo Go Now as much as DAFR, but it was a really good album. I think there was one too many instrumental songs for my taste. I love Kevin's voice and want to hear it as much as possible in music!
