It's my favorite album of all time. The only other album I found myself listening to again and again year after year was probably Operation :: Mindcrime and possibly Images and Words. It's been 10 years and the album is still in my car at the ready..
I've said this before, but that album singlehandedly moved me into listening to atmospheric and ambient type music.

Operation Mindcrime, huh? I'm a huge Qqueensryche fan too. Promised Land is my fav all-time album right in front of four Kevin-related albums (Awake, OSI1, DAFR and APSOG).
But anyway, DAFR is really amazing. Everyone always described it as music for a long cross-country drive. That always described it well to me. Coincidentally, Kevin did write the songs after a cross-country trip, so that fits well. I love that he's not afraid in DAFR to say that he's depressed: "give me back my blue, other colors fade anyway."
I could go on and on about DAFR. He also really tried to market the record. He had a CK t-shirt, screenprint, promo poster, he autographed each CD that went out, etc. He doesn't market like that anymore.

That album really pushed me from becoming a slight fan of prog rock to a huge lover. It's so dark and beautiful, which I love. But all my other top albums are Kevin albums! Yea, there was a Colorblind single from DAFR. The best thing about that single is the song "Blanket." Mmm, i love it.
