I'm currently in a cover band, we do pretty standard danceable bar band stuff.. 70's to modern pop. U2, Coldplay, Duran Duran, the Doors, Green Day, etc.
but I just got myself a sampler pedal so I can trigger loops, sounds, or whatever. So thunder / rain for Riders on the Storm, a camera shutter for Girls on Film, various analog noise sounds here and there, etc.
Now I'm on the lookout for cool samples.. noises, spoken word stuff from movies, natural sounds, etc. So if any of you run into samples you think would be cool in your internet travels let me know, I'll throw them on the sampler and play them at gigs.
Obviously KM is the king of this sort of thing, so I figure this is the right group to ask :-)

There are a ton of sites for good samples and weird noises, just Google and you'll be overwhelmed. The sound effects site I hit most is www.pacdv.com/sounds/index.html so look at that one. Also the Prelinger Archives are a WEALTH of info. You can get public domain stuff just like Kev did for GMH. Check it out, www.archive.org/details/prelinger you'll find plenty! :-)

Now I'm on the lookout for cool samples.. I have a recording of your father cursing heaven and hell on the day you were born, if that would be of interest. How's Bob by the way?
