AGOURA HILLS, Calif. – July 11, 2011 – The new progressive rock band, ARCH/ MATHEOS, has released the first single off the group's upcoming full-length debut Sympathetic Resonance. The new track, a 5 minute clip of the song Stained Glass Sky that clocks in at just less than 14 minutes, can be heard HERE.

Cover art for Sympathetic Resonance was fashioned using an image created by light painting photographer Dennis Calvert, who has described light painting as "The ability to see in 4 dimensions, time traveling, and creating fantasy using only what we base all reality on, light."

The band -accompanied by Joey Vera on bass, Bobby Jarzombek on drums, and Frank Aresti on additional lead guitar- began tracking the drums on January 12 and continued to record through March with Jim Matheos producing. ARCH/ MATHEOS is pleased to announce Sympathetic Resonance as the title of the debut album, which will be released September 13, 2011 in North America.

I agree. It sounds great. I've come to appreciate Arch's voice. For years, I think I compared him to Ray Alder because he was the other Fates Warning vocalist, and few people can compare to ray's voice in my opinion. But truth is, althought Arch's voice is an acquired taste for msot people, he can sing his butt off. The guitars sound great in this clip. And I love the album artwork fro mwhat I've seen and the Arch/Matheos logo too. Can't wait to see some tour dates posted. I'm pretty excited about this so far.

Metal Blade just announced they are selling Arch's 2003 A Twist of Fate EP for $6 in anticipation of the upcoming Arch/Matheos release. That's a good deal. The EP is only two tracks, but it features Matheos, Portnoy and Vera -- all musicians that we love!

Just got home and found my Arch/Matheos CD on my doorstep with a nice t-shirt. Just put on my headphones and popped in the CD. Let the journey begin!

Well, for some reason it always takes time for me to embrace Arch music. When I first heard A Twist of Fate it didn't grab me, but now I love it. On this new album the songs Midnight Serenade, Stained-Glass Sky and Incence and Myrrh grab me immediately. They are freakin incredible. The other songs seems very dense and I need to give it time to unfold for my brain. All of the reviews I'm ready are loving the album, so I'm confident that if I give the disc a few more spins that the songs will click -- like A Twist of Fate did. The artwork is beautiful. It's fun to listen because Jim was working on this at the same time as OSI4, so it's fun to imagine these kind of riffs could appear on OSI.

Well, this album has hooked me big time. I'm in the boat that prefers Alder over Arch, but this is just too good.

I've been loving this album for the last few weeks. Can't remember the last album I liked this much to be honest.

I used to prefer Alder over Arch, mostly because the production of ATG wasn't as good as later albums I don't think. FW didn't really find their sound until Zonder and Perfect Symmetry IMO. That said, I'm a big Arch fan now. I really hope Arch/Matheos has another album in them.
