Well, every week I update the Cover Songs section of this website and there are often some really good ones. I figured I'd start a thread to highlight some of them. I just stumbled across this one today. It's been around a while, but somehow I never heard it before. It's a techno remix of DT's "Metropolis Pt. 1." It's pretty sweet. Kevin would be proud.

My brother and I performed an acoustic version of "Colorblind" at my last show. Unfortunately all we have is a crappy camera-video. I also recorded a harder rock version of the same song a couple weeks ago. I can send it to you Mikey if you want me to.

Sure! There aren't that many CK cover songs out there, so I'd love to add it. Feel free to post it here or upload it somewhere. or just email me it to me and i can do it.

My brother and I performed an acoustic version of "Colorblind" at my last show. Woah, please post it! What chords did you use? I've been trying to figure out a few CK songs but they don't translate to guitars very well!

You're right Mr. Bald Guy. Kevin's chords are very interesting with moving bass lines. For Colorblind, try the following chords. These are the chords I use when I perform the song live. You might wish to play them slightly differently, and Kevin probably would too. But I think these are the chords that suit my version best. You may need to use your thumb for the bass:
(in DROP D)
Intro:
-5- -5- -3- -X- -3- -3- -3- -8- -2- -5- -4- -7- -0- -X- -X- -8- -X- -X- -X- -X- -0- -3- -5- -8-
Pre-chorus:
(Dsus2 is just a D with an open high E)
[G] [Bb] [Dsus2] Green can only hold you in the garden...
[G] [Bb] [Dsus2] [C9] ...but if it's all the same to you give me back my blue [G] [Bb] [Dsus2] Other colors fade anyway
Chorus:
Try these chords in succession
-0- -0- -0- -0- -3- -3- -3- -3- -2- -2- -0- -0- -0- -0- -0- -2- -X- -X- -2- -3- -0- -3- -X- -X-

I agree. It's fantastic! I love the guy's head movements and wide eyes when he sings in the opening seconds.
On a separate note, damn the lyrics for that song are great. They are so timeless and classic.

This is brilliant and amazing. What a great job, Arthur. Seriously. Like I said when I emailed you, you put your own twist on the song to make it original, but kept the vibe and mood. I love the minimalist sound. Kevin would be proud. I'll add it to the covers section.

Thanks aaamiri! I told Mebert that we were trying to put a new twist on it, but still wanted to be true to the original. It was a cross between this and doing a metal version. This was much better.

Simply an amazing cover. You've absolutely nailed it, like you say a new twist but still true to the original. Hats off and all.

wow. i like it! no offense but i was expecting it to be ruined....but what you did is nice , you bring in a different sound yet somehow retain that Kevin Moore understatedness. Excellent.

Hope I didn't ruin it. maybe it's good, but I didn't like it... guess it needs Moore's vocals, Moore vocals can't be reached... he has an unique voice...... plus it needs keyboards... sorry dude, you ruined the song for me... =|

I just posted a news item about this. It's actually the first video posted online of a CK cover song done in a public setting. That's pretty great!
